Exclusive Innovation - The First & Only Turf Trial in the Region

Beginning in 2025, Halifax Seed introduced Turf Trials to deliver Atlantic Canadian field data driven by golf superintendents themselves. By sharing independent results and peer feedback, the program empowers turf managers to confidently evaluate and adopt products proven under local course conditions.

Halifax Seed’s Turf Trials program is exclusive, superintendent driven, and built to deliver Atlantic Canadian field data and peer feedback you can trust. With the experience and data provided by the program, turf managers can confidently evaluate and adopt products proven under local course conditions. Participating courses are selected through an open application-based process. Selected courses receive trial products at no upfront cost and follow a simple season-long framework that includes baseline photos/testing, in-season observations, and end of trial results and testimonials. We partner with industry-leading suppliers to bring forward innovative solutions and share trial data and co-branded marketing materials that help the entire region learn what works, where it works, and why.

Halifax Seed's Turf Trials are easy to follow and will go a long way to improve the health of your course, provide valuable insights, and demonstrate your innovative approach to turf.

  2. Apply for the trial that you’re most interested in (first-come, first-served).
  3. Provide standard baseline testing results/photos.
  4. Receive trial products.
  5. Test them over the season and provide feedback and results.

Curious about how Halifax Seed's Turf Trials can make an impact? We ran a trial at KenWo Golf Club before launching this exclusive program, and the results speak for themselves. The goal of the trial was to evaluate the efficacy of different application rates of the growth regulator Anuew, in reducing grass clippings while maintaining acceptable turf quality and health.
